New US Lawsuit Accuses Apple of E-Book Price Fixing
Consumer rights law firm Hagens Berman filed a nationwide class-action lawsuit claiming that Apple Inc. is guilty of illegal price fixing related to the Agency Model for pricing e-books. The suit "alleges that the publishers and Apple colluded to increase prices for popular e-book titles to boost profits and force e-book rival Amazon to abandon its pro-consumer discount pricing." The downloads of digital audiobooks has steadily been increasing. According to figures from the lastest AAP Sales Report, downloaded audiobook sales were up 17% in May.
