New US Lawsuit Accuses Apple of E-Book Price Fixing

Consumer rights law firm Hagens Berman filed a nationwide class-action lawsuit claiming that Apple Inc. is guilty of illegal price fixing related to the Agency Model for pricing e-books. The suit "alleges that the publishers and Apple colluded to increase prices for popular e-book titles to boost profits and force e-book rival Amazon to abandon its pro-consumer discount pricing." AAP Sales Report on Digital Audiobooks

The downloads of digital audiobooks has steadily been increasing. According to figures from the lastest AAP Sales Report, downloaded audiobook sales were up 17% in May. Interestingly, the listening demographic leans towards the younger set. Almost one quarter (23%) are between the ages of 18-34. Read More
