3 C’s to consider this Holiday Season

Take advantage of the Holiday Season, and boost your marketing to take advantage of extra press opportunities, and the spirit of giving.

Customization: Customization is big business. Numerous industries, especially the entertainment industry, have taken advantage of personalizing a lot of products. For example, if you’re a football fan, you can get your name on a football jersey. More and more companies are adding a personal touch to their marketing campaigns. Just recently I saw one online commercial where you added your name, and your name was strategically placed throughout the advertisement. It was genius; you actually sat and watched the commercial, and then had the option to send it to your friends: making it viral.

How does this apply to the publishing industry? Well, many books now have the option to add a special note at the beginning of the book in a To:, From: format. Using print on demand technology, a printer can simply insert a page into the front matter of a book, and voila, you have a unique Holiday gift.

Charity: The Holiday’s are a time for giving. Whether it’s time, money, or a few good books, giving back to the community is mutually beneficial: your image is perceived as a good one for helping others and others benefit from your help.

Creativity: Get creative with your Holiday Promotions this year. Start now by contacting local venues, magazines, and online publications with a creative blurb tying your book to the Holiday Season. Whether your book is an excellent gift book, or Holiday themed book which naturally ties into this season, or if it is a work of fiction (can tie sales with a nice charitable promo), find a creative way to take advantage of Holiday Season press.
