Biography :

Though he is a lawyer and a member of the California Bar, Richard Wanderer has worked for many decades in NYC and LA in the advertising departments of major national magazines and newspapers. Because of this background, he is regarded as an expert in the American magazine field. In a recent interview he stated "In recent years, the American dream of 'helping your company become a profitable enterprise and you will be rewarded with a lifetime of security' has certainly been turned upside down. The rash of corporate takeovers, leveraged buyouts and just plain 'corporate greed' are strong reasons why this has occured. It was my hope in writing this contemporary novel that readers receive some real insight as to what this type of scenerio brings about and will find inspiration in the characters in this novel that stand up against this type of workplace tyranny." Though this suspense story takes place in the publishing field, employees in all fields can certainy empathize with the story line. Mr. Wanderer lives in Southern California with his wife, Patricia, two adult daughters and a son-in-law.

Book Review :

KIRKUS DISCOVERIES has called THE HOLIDAY PARTY (A Tale of a Corporate Takeover) "... A sharply observed saga of workplace tyranny."... "The author clearly knows this territory - its poisonous office politics and corporate gargolyles ... ." Anita Finley, a MIAMI HERALD columnist and the Publisher of BOOMER TIMES and SENIOR LIFE, has called it, "... a real page turner, to be sure. The author, Richard Wanderer, has a great future as a novelist as he satisfactorily involves the reader in the complexities of the human psyche of his major characters and they are really believable." Cynthia Brian of Starstyle-Be the Star You Are! On the World Talk Radio Network said, "I felt I was there in the moment as we moved through the takeover ... it is a wonderful read and though it is a work of fiction and a novel, it is filled with lessons that people can take into the workplace and it is done through its characters." Renowned book reviewer, Fran Lewis, concluded, "Great debut novel." This is the novel's new edition, just published by Two Harbors Press.
